Hydrogen in everyday life
The transportation industry is under pressure. Rising costs, new regulations and a social change that makes sustainability a secondary issue on the one hand and, on the other, no longer defines it as an option but as an expectation with a view to the world of tomorrow.
At REBER, we are convinced that the world of tomorrow must be shaped together. By companies that are prepared to lead the way, even if the path is not yet fully signposted. Because those who wait until all the answers are clear today will no longer be part of the solution tomorrow.
This is precisely why we are delighted to be part of the second phase of customer-oriented testing of the Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck. Alongside HORNBACH, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Rhenus Logistics and DHL, we are one of five partner companies with whom Daimler Truck is testing the fuel cell truck in real-life logistics operations.
The GenH2 truck has been in regular use at REBER since November 2025. Initially in building materials logistics in the Cologne area, and since February also in axle transport on the Wörth-Kassel route for Daimler Truck Inbound Logistics. The route has been chosen so that the necessary hydrogen infrastructure is available and the truck can show what it can do with real loads, real time windows and real requirements.
Together with Daimler Truck and journalists, we recently accompanied one of the journeys and talked openly about what the technology can already do today, where it still has to go and what this means in concrete terms for the plannability of our customers' everyday lives. Of course, this was also a welcome opportunity for us to talk to everyone involved in the project. After all, we are convinced that the answers to the industry's big questions can only be found together. And that is exactly what achieving great things together means to us.
Thanks to Daimler Truck for organizing the event and to all those involved for the great exchange of ideas.
