REBER tests Mercedes Benz GenH2 truck in practical use

Fuel cell truck to be launched on routes in NRW and Rhineland-Palatinate from November

We are only too happy to say it again and again: sustainability is non-negotiable and affects us all. That's why we are delighted to be one of only five selected partners to put Daimler Truck's GenH2 truck into regular use from November 2025. The fuel cell truck will prove its suitability for everyday use on our routes in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate - in building materials, furniture and automotive logistics.

The test is another logical step towards our goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2035. In addition to the e-trucks and LNG vehicles already in operation, we are expanding our practical tests to include hydrogen technology. The GenH2 truck with its powerful fuel cell, high payload and liquid hydrogen (sLH₂) has been specially developed for heavy-duty long-distance transport. Refueling will initially take place in Duisburg and Wörth as part of the second phase of customer-oriented testing.

"Practice will show which mix of battery electric vehicles and hydrogen will prevail in the long term. It is crucial for us to gain experience now and gradually make our fleet more sustainable," says our Managing Director Mirko Kauffeldt. "The efficiency and range of the new technologies already show that there are good reasons to leave diesel behind in the future."

We test, compare and scale systematically - for our customers, for practice, for logistics with a future. Because at REBER, your logistics is our home.
