REBER gives old swap bodies a new lease of life

Working together to achieve great things for the world of tomorrow - this is a guiding principle at REBER that runs through almost all areas of our company. For us, sustainability means not only the use of environmentally friendly technologies, but also the responsible use of our resources. One project that we have recently been implementing at our sites is the reconditioning of old swap bodies that would otherwise be taken out of service.

Our solution consists of a comprehensive refurbishment - a refit - of swap bodies that have already been in use for over 12 years. Instead of scrapping them and replacing them with new ones - an expensive and unsustainable alternative - we work closely with the Brüggen company in Oelde. There, the bridges are refurbished in such a way that their service life is extended by a further eight to ten years. Due to various acquisitions and expansions of the Group this year, we have also taken over a large number of older swap bodies, for example at our new site in Mötzingen. Around 250 of these will now be made ready for use again in the coming months.

We believe this is a sensible and sustainable solution to preserve existing resources and make the world of tomorrow a little greener.
