Together for biodiversity

REBER continues to work to save insects

Insect mortality has many causes - from the loss of natural habitats due to urbanisation and land sealing to the increased use of pesticides and the consequences of climate change. Pollinating insects in particular, such as honey bees, are essential for the preservation of our native biodiversity and should be the focus of sustainable initiatives.
For years, we have therefore been actively committed to protecting our environment and preserving animal habitats - whether by setting up our own beehives at our sites, planting trees or protecting species in our fields with a flowering meadow.
The latter has been creating valuable habitats for insects on an area of 6,000 square metres for three years now. We are therefore all the more pleased to be able to extend this successful flowering sponsorship with our partner Feldwerk for another year. In spring, we will start a sowing project together with our trainees to bring the flowering meadow back to life and provide a protected habitat for numerous insects - from bees to other species, some of which are endangered.
And the next project is already in the starting blocks: We are planning to build an insect hotel at our site in Melle. Together with our beehives, it will make a small but valuable contribution to promoting the flora and fauna around our site.
Our approach is clear: sustainability is non-negotiable. It's about protecting habitats and securing the future for generations to come - because together we want to continue to achieve great things in the future.
